In this article, you will learn how Cleardox Smart Redact pseudonymizes content to facilitate anonymization, allowing you to preserve and reuse knowledge in your documents.
Anonymization or Redaction in Cleardox is primarily achieved by pseudonymization - that is, the personal information is replaced with a unique designation to preserve the meaning in the document.
However, if you prefer to use classic redaction with the traditional black marker instead of pseudonymization, this is also possible. See how here.
Cleardox automatically inserts pseudonyms depending on the category you have selected:
- Persons: P1, P2, etc.
- Companies: V1, V2, etc.
- Email: E1, E2, etc.
- Social Security Number: Cpr. no. 1, Cpr. no. 2, etc.
- Address: Addr. 1, Addr. 2, etc.
- Confidential: F1, F2, etc.
- Title: T1, T2, etc.
- Telephone number: Tel. no. 1, Tel. no. 2, etc.
Choose an alternative pseudonymization method
If you prefer to use a different pseudonymization logic (e.g., P1, P2 => A, B), this is also possible, but be aware that this can only be done in Fast Track. Open the sidebar as shown below.
- Click on the relevant category where you want to change the pseudonymization logic or choose edit under the three dots
- Specify what you want to replace it with and the order you want to use
- Option to insert parentheses
Edit pseudonym for a single entity
There may be cases where you just want to change the pseudonym for a single entity under a category. In the example below, I would like to change Jens so that he is called something very specific, while the subsequent names can keep their pseudonym logic (B, C, D, etc.)
Do the following: 1: hover the cursor over the replacement, after which a gray box appears, indicating that you can edit the replacement. 3. write a different pseudonym
