Is it possible to split PDF's based on file size?

In this article, you will learn how to split your file during download in Cleardox, ensuring that the file size meets the specifications required for your intended use or sharing method.

Cleardox offers a feature that allows large PDF documents to be divided into smaller parts during download. This feature is part of our anonymization tool and is particularly useful in cases involving public records requests, where it is often necessary to send documents via email. Many email clients have limitations on the size of attachments, making this feature especially relevant.

With Cleardox redaction software, you can easily split a document into several files of equal size. When you click 'Download', you will see a new option in the drop-down menu called 'Split PDF by file size'. Here, you can select the maximum file size for splitting the PDF to ensure the files comply with any attachment size requirements for emails.

The size limits can be adjusted to suit your requirements, and an unlimited number of options can be added to the drop-down menu.

How to use the feature:

  1. Navigate to 'Download'.
  2. Select 'Split PDF by file size'.
  3. Choose the needed file size for splitting your PDF
