How Do I Extend the Deletion Date of a Project in Cleardox?

Extend the deletion date of your Cleardox project when you need more time to work with your documents, redactions, legal binder, or legal bundle.

Project Deletion in Cleardox

Projects in Cleardox are automatically scheduled for deletion after a set period of time. This helps ensure that documents and project data are not stored in Cleardox longer than necessary.

The deletion date applies to your entire project and the documents and work associated with it. This includes projects used for redaction and anonymization as well as projects containing a legal binder, legal bundle, or other document collection.

If you need additional time to complete your work, you can extend the deletion date before the project is deleted.

 

 

How to extend the project deletion deadline

  1. On your Cleardox homepage, locate the document or project you want to keep longer.

  2. Click the three dots next to the project title.

  3. Open the menu and select “Extend”.

  4. Once selected, the deletion deadline will be reset to 30 days from the current date.

This allows you to quickly extend active projects without changing any content or settings.

Please note that this is an optional feature that needs to be enabled. If you do not see it, please submit a support ticket or contact your internal Cleardox representative.

Different retention options (30, 90, 180 days and more)

In addition to resetting the deadline to 30 days, Cleardox can be configured to support different retention periods, depending on your organization’s needs and policies.

Examples of commonly used options include:

  • 30 days – suitable for short-term or ad-hoc tasks

  • 90 days – ideal for longer review cycles or internal approvals

  • 180 days or longer – useful for complex cases, extended legal processes, or ongoing work

What Is Included When I Extend a Project?

Extending the deletion date applies to the entire project. This means that you can continue working with the documents and work already contained in the project.

For example, you may need additional time to:

  • Complete the redaction or anonymization of documents.
  • Review documents before downloading the final result.
  • Continue building or reviewing a legal binder or legal bundle.
  • Organize a larger document collection.
  • Make final changes before completing and downloading your project.

You do not need to create a new project simply because you need additional time to finish your work.

Remember to Extend Your Project Before It Is Deleted

If you know that you need additional time to work with a project, make sure to extend the deletion date before the project reaches its scheduled deletion date.

This is relevant whether you are working with document redaction and anonymization, a legal binder, a legal bundle, or another type of document collection in Cleardox.

By extending the deletion date, you can continue working in your existing project and complete your documents when you are ready.
