Learn about Cleardox´ ability to handle various formats. This includes support for Excel, PDF, images, Word, and more. Cleardox offers two different approaches for handling formats: Cleardox Native and Cleardox Convert.
Cleardox Native
Cleardox Native allows you to retain the original format upon download. For example, if you upload a Word file, you will download a Word file. This is also known as Word-to-Word. This feature is particularly useful for legal professionals who want to share a contract with a colleague while ensuring the document remains editable in Word.
By default, Cleardox is set to operate in native mode. The following formats are supported in Cleardox Native:
- Word (Docx)
- Excel
NOTE: When you upload a Word file (docx) to Cleardox, not all content is included. For example, images are not retained. However, upon download, the file will be 1-1 with the original, minus any redacted content. If you need to redact images, it's important to remove them afterwards in the office suite.
Cleardox Convert
Cleardox Convert automatically converts all common formats to PDF upon upload. If the output being in PDF is acceptable or required, we recommend enabling the convert to PDF feature. Once activated, Cleardox will convert all common formats to PDF upon upload, allowing you to start your redaction task or create your material collection or extract.
Advantages of Cleardox Convert
- Eliminates the need for manual conversion if PDF output is required.
- Ensures consistency as all documents are now in the same format.
Note: Cleardox Convert needs to be enabled by a Cleardox employee. Please create a support case or contact your IT administrator to enable this feature.
